“Advisor Says”: Winter Home Improvement Projects

January 13, 2021

Anyone else spend a lot more time at home last year than ever before? Our homes took on a whole new importance in 2020, becoming our office, classroom, cafe, and so much more. All that time at home can definitely inspire you to upgrade your space! Whether you are planning to sell your home and want to increase its value or just want to make it cozier and more functional for you and your family to enjoy, there are many simple and affordable projects you can tackle that will make it seem like a whole new home! We asked our advisors what they would recommend– here’s a few ideas to get you started!

Install a nice soaker tub so you can warm up on those cold winter nights!

It is amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do to a home, and there’s no better time than wintertime to paint the interior of your home!

Major cleanup after taking down the Christmas decorations.

Re-organizing your space and purging junk/ things you don’t need anymore. I try to do this once every season.

Replace dated light fixtures & ceiling fans – they can really give your home a mini facelift….& clean the intake vents if you have forced air.

Always a good idea to go through closets and cupboards- Or paint a mural on your living room wall.

Update your home’s look by replacing cabinet hardware & door knobs/hinges. Such an easy and impactful little project!

Organizing the sock drawer, of course.

PAINTING!

Organization! I love to make sure my pantry is in tip-top shape.
