“Advisor Says”: Favorite Holiday Traditions

December 23, 2020

Happy holidays! One of the best parts of the holidays are the traditions we share with family and friends. Sun Valley hosts a fantastic lineup of events most years, with a tree lighting ceremony, winter solstice soiree, ice show, torchlight parade, and more! Even if the holidays are a bit different this year for many of us, it’s heartwarming to reflect back on our favorite traditions and look forward to the years to come.

Santa photos! Yes, at the age of 34, I still get a Santa photo with my older brother and sister for our parents. As the youngest, I always end up as the one still sitting on Santa’s lap. It’s a tradition that I hope never ends. However, this year due to COVID, we might have to photoshop it!

Cutting down the Christmas tree.

Christmas dinner is my favorite! Getting together with family, eating and drinking good wine- nothing better.

Growing up and still today, my family always does the sleigh ride to dinner at Trail Creek, watch the ice skaters at the Lodge and Santa ski down Dollar, and watch the fireworks! And of course, lots and lots of hot chocolate and fondue. There’s truly nothing like Christmas in Sun Valley, and spending it with those you love!

Skiing first thing Christmas day before the crowds and then a champagne brunch to finish.
